DR. KIMBERLY HUNT

My passion for animal wellness resulted from caring for my childhood best friend, my dog Buddy.  He was literally my “buddy”, best friend and confidant.  He never judged, and always loved unconditionally through childhood disappointments, and adolescent dramas.

In 2001, I began my career as Doctor of Chiropractic.  At the time, I had a dog with hip dysplasia.  Wondering if holistic treatment could help, I did some research and found an animal chiropractor.  The treatments were really quite amazing and very beneficial to my dog.  It was then that I decided to become an animal chiropractor.  Finally, in late 2012, I graduated from Options for Animals College of Animal Chiropractic, and became certified by the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association (IVCA).

In 2014, I partnered with Dr. Sally Barchman, owner of State Line Animal Hospital.  She was opening a holistic center to offer acupuncture, chiropractic, massage, energy healing and food therapy.  It has been a great partnership and many animals have benefited.  Often the last resort before euthanasia, our treatments have helped animals recover from severe pain, lameness, incontinence, seizures, and other disease processes.
My chiropractic technique is a combination of gentle joint manipulation and manual therapy (massage & myofascial release) to address joint, muscle, tendon, ligament and nerve dysfunction.  I also incorporate rehabilitation exercises when appropriate.  Although the chiropractic treatments are often enough to resolve a variety of issues, my experience has taught me that a synergistic approach works best.  Our most challenging cases have resolved with a combination of chiropractic, acupuncture, food therapy, rehabilitation exercises plus medicines and/or herbs for pain and inflammation.

It’s amazing how well animals respond to holistic treatments.  They have no agenda which prevents healing.  They stretch every day, get plenty of rest, and typically have very little stress.  Holistic treatments, along with a good diet and loving home life, help bring the animal back to wellness very quickly.

Our goal at State Line Animal Hospital is to expand the Holistic Center.  The vision includes cutting edge therapies and a full service rehabilitation clinic.  I am so fortunate to be involved with Dr. Barchman and her amazing staff.  I truly LOVE my job!
